Researchers Ola Ståhl and Petra Lilja are exploring notions of collaborative fictioning. Sounds recorded at different sites in Kristianstad are turned into interwoven sketches and fragments of narrative in a collaborative workshop. The result will be compiled into a large printed map to accompany the soundscape in an installation exhibited as part of the project Wanderlost.
This workshop was an exercise in attentiveness considered a potential opening towards the development of new aesthetic sensibilities and fictional universes. Working across different senses, disciplines, practices and media, participants created a series of fictions based on the encounter with the local sound environment.
Ola Ståhl & Petra Lilja are researchers at the Department of Design, Linnaeus University. They share an interest in transdisciplinarity and creative-critical practices in and across various media.
FICTIONING is a workshop part of Wanderlost, a group exhibition in and around the city of Kristianstad, April 21st-27th, 2017.
Ola Ståhl and Sara Hyltén-Cavallius first tried out this workshop in the Kirseberg neighbourhood, Malmö, Sweden as part of Petra Lilja Design Gallery’s program Design Research in the Gallery 2016.
